Almost Vacation

It's almost Thanksgiving break!!! I've got just over a week left.. we leave on the 25th and I have to come back the 29th for basketball, which I'm excited about because the boy I'm "crushing on" (yeah that's what we'll call it) is the manager for the boys basketball team (I'm the manager for the girls) and that means that I'm more likely to run into him! =) I'm such a creeper lol !
Anyway, my birthday is on the 28th, yay! I'll be 20!! I'm overwhelmed with joy!
My roommates have officially left for Florida, therefore I am now alone!! (i'm slightly excited about this but, I'm scared of the dark!) Now its just me, Shannon, Amber, Jessica, and Timbo! We're the final 5!
Lately I've been in a lot of pain because of my back and I haven't been able to do much, so yesterday Lydia the other manager for the girls team took me to the clinic in Warrensburg and they gave me hydrocodone and a muscle relaxer, which combining the two helps ALOT!!
So since school is almost out we have to clean the dorm, basically scrub it down top to bottom! but since my roomies are in Florida I have to do most of it.. therefore.... I have started now!!
well I suppose I should get back to my cleaning and Shannon!

Life at the BI

Oh BI... its definitely interesting here!!!
There are a lot of rules... like the girls have to wear skirts to class, and its starting to get really cold outside because we are in the Adirondack Mountains and we are right on a lake. I've already gotten sick to the point where I had to miss class.. which I'm in the process of making up! We just got finished with our Brother/Sister Dorm Scavenger Hunt, it was fun a lot of running around and stuff but fun.
Classes aren't going as well.. I did poorly on my Quiz and Exam for James, I did better on my Scripture memory verse and my Theology quiz (which I got an A on YEAH!!!)
Well now I have to go study for my Personal Evangelism Exam on Tuesday and my Old Testament Survey Mega-Quiz on Thursday so I should stop procrastinating and get to work. =/

The Rhythm Section

Ok, so I was really bored waiting for my mom to get here today... so ...... I Googled myself!!! AND I came up with something interesting... "The Rhythm Section" by Mark Burnell... he's a British author and THERE MAKING A MOVIE!!! This is what his story is about....

New Line Cinema decided to make a movie on Mark Burnell's thriller The Rhythm Section. According to Variety reports, the studio hired the 41-year-old author to write the screenplay. The Northumberland-born writer, who grew up in Brazil and returned to Britain, where he tried several careers, has become famous for his Stephanie Patrick series, including The Rhythm Section (1999), Chameleon (2001), Gemini (2003) and The Third Woman (2005), which will be launched in September. Burnell has also written well-received novels like Freak (1994), Glittering Savages (1995), Zoo Station (2003).The Rhythm Section tells the story of the female assassin Stephanie Patrick, who investigates a plane crash that killed her parents and brother. Falling into a downward spiral of prostitution, drugs and drink, she is picked up by a journalist who has discovered that the air crash was caused by a bomb. The Rhythm Section is not a thriller about the hunt for a terrorist or about revenge, although justice for her family is her initial motivation. Rather, The Rhythm Section is the story of Stephanie's attempt to reclaim herself. She has to rediscover who she is through a series of roles that she is forced to play.As a prostitute, she is Lisa, the chemical blonde, and later, she is Petra Reuter, German anarchist turned mercenary terrorist. Sometimes, she is Marina Gaudenzi, a Swiss businesswoman, or she's Susan Branch, an American student, or Elizabeth Shepherd, an English management consultant. More than anything, The Rhythm Section is about a catastrophic crisis of identity and the price that has to be paid to be free of it. (fantasticfiction.co.uk)
Isn't that something?! lol
So when/if you go see this movie be like "Hey I know a girl named Stephanie Patrick.... I read here blog... its awesome!!!"

You Don't Even Know!!!

Music:
I'm feel so.... free right now.... you want to know why... because I just listened to Skillet!!!
I have not listened to music for the past 2 weeks except for some "rap crap" as I like to call it (which Brooklyn, 1 of the girls on the basketball team, says to me all the time b/c that's what I called it "rap crap" b/c all "Good music is like candy, the rappers need to be thrown away.) lol. I listened to "rap crap" for about 2 minutes on our way to Head Quarters for Word Of Life for basketball practice.
So when my friend Tara drove me, Tricia and Shannon to Dollar General tonight she played Skillet and OMYGOODNESS!!!!! I was like revived.... the song is called "Monster" and just the drums, the guitar, the bass, just the EVERYTHING!!! It was AMAZING!!! God truly is good for creating music!!!!!!!!!! I closed my eyes and just rocked my head to the music it was so good!!!!! You have NO idea, what I feel like right now, I feel ........ like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. so yeah.. lol
I hope I get this Christian Principals thing right so I can listen to music whenever I want!!!!!!!
So that's my little rant on how amazing music is!!!!!
Sorry it was really random. lol.

Danger of Going Into Self-Deception

So we're all gathered in Council Hall, we just got done worshiping the Lord and we're ready for the sermon. One of the staff members gets up (he's one of the younger ones) and has us turn to James 1.21-25. He started out by saying that it was the anniversary of Steve Irwin's death (the crocodile hunter) I loved him, so anyway this WOLBI staff member talks about how Steve Irwin was always up for danger, and he (the Wolbi staff member, sorry I can't remember his name) would rather stay out of harms way and sit on his Lazy Boy, eating his chips watching Steve Irwin do all this dangerous stuff. Well, the title of his sermon was ...
Danger of Going into Self-Deception. James 1.21-25 (so know you see the connection?)
1. Being in an environment where the Word of God is at work, and not dealing with your own sin.
Also see
Romans 13.12- The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. so remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.
Hebrews 12.1 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
1 Peter 2.1 - So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.
2. Having the truth of the Word at my fingers and not recieve it at a personal level.
3. Hearing and recieving the Word and not stepping into action.
4. Being worse off by hearing the Word and not responding to it, and leave worse off then I was at first.
5. Not realizing response to the Word of God is the determining factor for the direction of my life.

So James 1.25 really jumped out at me during this sermon:
"But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it."

I found this to be a very POWERFUL message for me, and I wanted to share it with you all, if there is anyone reading this. :)

WOLBI

School:
I've only been here for 2 weeks and 5 days but I love it already!!! The dorms are named after countries where Word of Life has Ministries, I was in England for 2 weeks but then they moved me to my permanent BI (Bible Institute) Dorm which is North America (go figure, I wanted to be in Sydney). But anyway, my room is like 1/2 the size of the other rooms, there are 2 bunk beds (4 beds for those of you who can't do math). And I'm going to have 2 room mates, Kim and Jenna. I've met Kim but not Jenna. My room has a slanted ceiling which is AMAZING!! I can't wait to get all my stuff here so I can decorate and make it more like home. ANYWAY.... the girls here are so awesome, their not like normal college kids they care about one another and their growth with God. I'm a little farther away from home than I'm use to but, I'm not finding that difficult. I'm trying out for the Basketball team, there are only 12 girls trying out and he's been known to keep 10-12, So I'm praying that I'll make the team, but if I don't its ok, that just means God has other plans for me.
